Getting Started with Bizy, Your New Recognition Sidekick

Bizy is Bonusly's recognition sidekick, and its whole job is to make sure good work doesn't slip by unnoticed. It notices the moments worth celebrating, helps people give better recognition more often, and keeps managers and people leaders a step ahead of employee engagement.

Bizy lives inside Bonusly and beyond, helping you stay a little closer to all the great stuff your team is up to. It connects to the tools your team uses to get work done, like Slack, Teams, Granola, Linear, and Bonusly itself. It then adapts to a person’s unique role and remembers useful context over time. That means it can notice great work happening across multiple work spaces, learn how employees like to connect and collaborate, and help everyone know who to recognize, and when, and why.

Here’s how to get started:

Where you'll find Bizy

Bizy shows up in a couple of places inside Bonusly. It's there whenever you need it.

  • The sidebar: Open Bizy anytime to ask a question, get a recognition draft, or catch up on what you missed.
  • The give box: When you're writing recognition, Bizy’s right there to help make it a little more specific and meaningful before you send it.

Connecting your tools

Great work doesn't only happen in Bonusly. It shows up in Slack threads, project updates, meeting notes, and the everyday collaboration when people help each other out. If Bizy only knew what was already in Bonusly, most of the moments worth celebrating would stay buried.

Thankfully, Bizy talks to collaboration tools beyond Bonusly, helping you see and celebrate all of the work worth recognizing. All you need to do is connect Bizy to the collaboration tools your company has made available.

When those connections are on, Bizy can ground its recognition recommendations and catch-up summaries in whatever’s been happening around the organization recently.

Here's how to connect:

  1. Open up Bizy in Bonusly.
  2. Go to Bizy’s Settings
  3. Find Connectors from the menu options
  4. Choose from the available tools. Your company admin controls what tools are available, but they often include options like Slack and Granola.
  5. Approve access through that tool's normal sign-in flow.

A few things worth knowing:

  • You connect your own account. Your admin decides which connector types are available company-wide, but you can decide what to link for yourself.
  • Bizy only sees what you can already see. Connecting a tool doesn't expand your permissions. It searches on your behalf within your existing access.
  • Bizy reads context. It doesn't take over the channel. It uses connected tools to understand work and help deliver recognition recommendations. It doesn’t post, edit, or delete anything in those tools for you.
  • You can disconnect anytime. Change your mind, revoke access, or leave a tool unconnected. Bizy still works with what's inside Bonusly.

If a connector you want isn't listed, ask your Bonusly admin. They turn connector types on in Bizy Settings, and once it's available, you can connect in just a few clicks.

What you can do with Bizy

Bizy's here to help you and everyone on your team connect, collaborate, celebrate, and ultimately do work they're proud of — every single day. Bizy’s an AI agent, so there’s quite a lot it can do. But here are some call outs:

Know who to recognize

Not sure who's to recognize? Bizy looks at the work happening across your team, in Bonusly and any tools you've connected, and points you to people worth recognizing, including the ones who don't always end up in the feed.

Try asking: "Who should I recognize today?"

Know when to recognize

Timing is most of it. Bizy flags birthdays, work anniversaries, and milestones before they pass, and can pull up years of recognition so your note says more than "happy one year."

Try asking: "Any upcoming milestones I should know about?"

Know how to recognize

"Great work this week" is easy to type and easy to forget. Recognition that actually lands names what happened and why it mattered. Tell Bizy what someone did, and it helps you shape a message specific enough to stick. Staring at a blank comment box on someone else's shoutout? Bizy can help you add on there too.

Try asking: "Help me recognize Sam for owning the launch when the timeline slipped."

Bizy never sends anything for you. You edit, you personalize, you hit send.

Prepare for 1:1s, reviews, reflections, and more

We all know the cold open: "So, how's it going?" Not because you don't care, but because the notes, trends, and goals are scattered across tabs you never opened.

Ask Bizy to help you prep, and it surfaces recent recognition, check-in trends, and goal progress, plus what you talked about last time, so you walk in with a real question instead of small talk.

Try asking: "Help me prep for my 1:1 with Alex."

Stay in the loop

Been heads-down for a week? Back from PTO? Ask Bizy to catch you up, and it pulls together what's happened with the people you work with: recognition, milestones, and the wins that scrolled by while you weren't looking.

Try asking: "Catch me up on what's been going on."

Get help with Bonusly

Not sure how something works, or where to find it? Ask Bizy. It answers plain-language questions about using Bonusly, day or night, so you're not waiting on someone else's time.

Try asking: "What's my points balance?"

Sounds cool. Where should I start?

Honestly, anywhere! Bizy's built to help. If you're ever staring at the sidebar not sure what to ask, the Prompt Library has you covered with a running list of ready-to-go prompts, tuned to your role, so you're never starting from a blank box.

For those so inclined, here are few more questions worth trying:

Giving recognition

  • "Help me recognize the whole team for hitting our sprint goal."
  • "What's a good way to thank someone who covered for me last week?"

Exploring rewards

  • "What can I redeem with my points right now?"
  • "What's trending in the rewards catalog this month?"

Getting caught up

  • "What's new with the design team this week?"
  • "Did anything big happen while I was on vacation?"

Reflecting on growth

  • "What have I been recognized for this quarter?"
  • "How am I trending against my goals?"

Adding some fun

  • "Can you help me create a doodle for this shoutout?"
  • "Suggest a GIF that fits this celebration."

Bringing Bizy to your desktop

Bizy is also available via desktop app so that you can keep recognition, connection, and collaboration top of mind — even when you’re not logged into Bonusly.

It's worth downloading if:

  • You’re heads down in Slack, email, docs, and meetings all day, and recognition isn't always front and center.
  • You want notifications when Bizy notices something awesome worth celebrating, even when Bonusly isn't open.
  • You like having one central spot to ask for a draft, catch up, or prep for a check in.

How to get it:

  1. Open Bizy in Bonusly.
  2. Go to Bizy’s Settings.
  3. Click “Bizy Apps.”
  4. Download the app for Mac or Windows.
  5. Install, sign in with your Bonusly account, and you're all set.

Updates install automatically after that. Recognition drafts move directly into the Bonusly give box when you want to tweak them before posting.
