Why Motivosity falls flat
USER EXPERIENCE
Participants find the platform hard to use.
Some Motivosity participants find it difficult to search old posts, find specific topics, or participate on the platform. For example, it may be hard to tell if they’ve already liked something, and some participants aren’t able to tag a person who provides them with feedback without giving that person reward dollars.
“There are certain buttons that are hardwire[d] into the system that we are unable to change to fit our internal language. Also, integration with other systems does not seem easy.” Verified User in Retail, Enterprise-level, on G2
GLITCHES
Customers regularly experience tech problems.
In addition to poor communication features, customers experience outright tech glitches. There are plenty of examples of this. From snags in setting 1:1 dates, to technical problems that leave people unable to offer thanks, to producing monthly reports that don’t contain the expected data, and journal functions that “don’t seem to work properly,” the issues are wide-ranging. Some users describe the platform—and the mobile app— as “clunky.”
“Has glitches almost weekly. Sometimes [I] have to close out and try again the next day.” Heather L., Mid-Market level on G2
COACHING
Reviewers complain about one of Motivosity's key features: coaching.
It’s tough to coach without the right data! Reviewers’ complaints range from simple search issues that make it tough to add coaching feedback—like difficulty in searching for or adding to entries—to more complex issues, such as a lack of targeted channels. Some reviewers wished the items in the “Coaching” feature were editable or that the “Manager coaching” component could accommodate customized changes. One user still gets reminders to coach their old team, though they’re no longer listed as direct reports.
“It seems to have some technical glitches where it will erase or reset the information you input. This can make it hard to create consistency with coaching if you can't go back and forth while filling [it] out.” Colby H., Small Business reviewer on G2

4 reasons Bonusly outshines the competition
Teams achieve more
Why it matters: How do high-performing teams achieve their goals time and again? They regularly land wins for their company by being highly efficient and results-oriented.
How Bonusly delivers: The right conditions—including regularly receiving recognition that aligns with company values—lead to improvements in efficiency, results, and motivation.
How the competition lags behind: They’re not as adept at creating conditions that help individuals and teams produce top-notch work. (That’s why their participation rates aren’t as high as ours.)
Admins save time
Why it matters: Don’t let HR leaders be distracted from strategic initiatives by administrative tasks! Your teams will save time in a recognition platform that has supercharged workflows.
How Bonusly delivers: Only Bonusly’s best-in-class solution can save your HR team hours on administration every week. Move fast right out of the gate with a platform that’s always straightforward and easy to use.
How the competition lags behind: Poorly designed platforms will waste hours of your team’s time, instead of automating tasks like Bonusly.
Retention reigns
Why it matters: Voluntary employee turnover is common today, but it’s expensive and destabilizing. Strong employee retention is a golden ticket in today’s market.
How Bonusly delivers: Bonusly’s culture of recognition contributes to people feeling valued and appreciated company-wide. That helps prevent employees from walking away.
How the competition lags behind: Other platforms don’t pay enough attention to the link between a top-shelf recognition program and lowering turnover rates. It’s an oversight that affects you.
Collaboration is easy
Why it matters: When efficiency and productivity co-exist, teams produce higher-quality work. Both are enabled by better collaboration.
How Bonusly delivers: Tear down the silos and let your teams do incredible work together! Bonusly fosters partnerships and a sense of belonging, which helps collaboration flourish.
How the competition lags behind: Our competitors lean into top-down rewards. Sadly, they miss out on the collaboration that happens when employees connect vertically and horizontally.
